A growing manufacturing company in Dumbarton is seeking an Operations Support Apprentice to join their successful team. Overview

Are you looking to kickstart your career in a busy office environment?

NCE Switchgear are looking for an enthusiastic individual to come in and join their successful and growing team as an Operations Support Apprentice. NCE Switchgear have had a number of people successfully join and complete their modern apprenticeship in a range of different disciplines, and they are looking for their next apprentice to follow in the same steps. You will complete an SCQF level 6 in Digital Applications Support as part of the apprenticeship and full training will be given.

What will I be doing?
  • Becoming super user of Sage 200 for invoicing and checking over client details
  • Assisting with preparing and editing basic electrical schematics for switchgear and MCC's
  • Using WAP which is a module of Sage 200 for resubmissions
  • Acting as first responder for incoming calls and triaging these where possible. Also reaching out to customers to detail ongoing projects when required
  • Use of Radon system where drawings are submitted. Name changes and updates are carried out on this. Details between old and new drawings are also highlighted on this
  • Use of PDF Pro for editing and resubmitting PDF documents
  • Use of Microsoft Office Packages such as Excel for reporting, Outlook for emails and Teams for internal collaboration
  • Creating and updating folders with all the correct documentation for each project
  • Assisting with requesting materials from procurement
What do I need to be successful?
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually when required
  • Professional approach towards all aspects of work
  • Good time management, planning and organisational skills

Salary: £16,000 per annum

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8am - 5pm
