A global technology company seeks a Digital Energy Technical Apprentice focused on energy management in smart buildings. This apprenticeship includes both on-the-job and off-the-job training to develop vital skills in energy solutions, sustainability, and project support. The ideal candidate should possess 5 GCSEs with a strong interest in energy management and sustainability. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
As a Digital Energy Technical Apprentice, you will work in the field of energy management and controls for Smart Buildings and Smart Electrical Infrastructure. You will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative technologies to optimize energy usage and drive sustainability. You will be part of a dynamic team, collaborating with experts in various disciplines to deliver impactful solutions for our customers.
During your apprenticeship, you will receive two different types of training.
‘On‑the‑job’ training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, as your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you’ve been hired to do. This will include skills and knowledge that fall outside of the apprenticeship but are needed for the job role. As well as providing ‘on‑the‑job’ training, it is important that we support you in additional ways to ensure your success.
‘Off‑the‑job’ training is delivered by one of our carefully selected Training Providers during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% (average 6 hours per week) of your working hours completing ‘off‑the‑job’ training. This is protected time and is a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard so you can achieve occupational competence.
37.5 hours per week to be worked from Monday to Friday. Exact start and finish times are to be agreed upon with Line Manager. Some of these hours will be allocated to off‑the‑job training as part of your Apprenticeship Programme.
5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths and at least 1 other STEM subject.
No pre‑requisite experience required but a demonstrable interest in engineering through school or hobby interests.
Please note that a full UK Driving License is essential for this position, though we will accept applications from those who are in the process of obtaining one (ie currently completing driving lessons). If your role is a ‘Travelling Appointment’ and so requires a vehicle, this will be provided by Schneider Electric.
We are unfortunately unable to provide visa sponsorship for our apprenticeship positions. Additionally, certain visa types may not meet the eligibility criteria for apprenticeship funding under current government guidelines.
