A local council is seeking a Digital Communications Officer to enhance their engaging Making it Happen campaign through captivating video content. The successful candidate will plan, film, and edit content that highlights frontline services while ensuring alignment with brand messaging. Strong skills in video storytelling, particularly in Premiere Pro, alongside an understanding of social media trends, are essential for improving audience engagement. The role requires a collaborative and organised individual comfortable working across various themes and stakeholders.
We’re looking for a passionate Digital Communications Officer to help bring our high‑profile Making it Happen campaign to life through attention‑grabbing short‑form video.
Working closely with our Communications and Campaigns team, you’ll plan, film, edit and publish story‑led content that showcases real frontline services and how we deliver for our residents.
Across ten weekly themes (e.g. street cleaning and recycling, parks and leisure, community safety, new and improved homes, and support for children, young people and local businesses), you’ll turn briefs into engaging narratives, deliver content that is aligned with the council’s brand and campaign messaging, and ensure it is fully accessible.
You’ll track performance and suggest ways to improve content to meet our campaign goals.
We need a confident, creative video storyteller skilled in Premiere Pro, with a strong grasp of social best practice, trends, and how to optimise for each platform. You’re able to turn sometimes complex or dull information into content that cuts through.
You’ll be collaborative, organised and comfortable working at pace across multiple locations and stakeholders.
