Overview

Job Summary
The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is recruiting dedicated, skilled Diagnostic General Radiographers to work within our team at The University Hospital of North Midlands, Royal Stoke Site. The role is varied and rewarding, working in a range of clinical settings, supporting outpatient clinics, endoscopy, theatres, Emergency and Inpatient Departments. The Trust is a level 1 Major Trauma Centre with services including Neurosurgery, Cancer services, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Cardiothoracic and Paediatrics (including a Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care). Our Imaging department maintains QSI accreditation and has a robust equipment replacement programme, with recent upgrades to Digital x-ray equipment and DR systems.

Applicants must be available for face to face interviews.

Main duties

You will act as clinical lead when on duty, organise and prioritise competing clinical demands, and ensure a safe, clean, professional environment. You will be knowledgeable, confident, able to handle pressure, and approachable, supportive and caring to all. You may be a band 6 Radiographer seeking a change or an experienced Band 5 Radiographer looking to progress in an exciting imaging department. You are welcome to visit the department to meet our team, arranged via management by email or telephone. You will contribute to 24/7 service demands including BHs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Diagnostic Radiography or DCR (equivalent)
  • Full HCPC registration

Desirable

  • Evidence of in-house training in leadership or modality related
  • Relevant postgraduate study
Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience at band 5 or above in an NHS organisation
  • Experience of DR x-ray systems
  • Awareness and good working knowledge of QA programmes
  • Experience of taking a lead role and ability to work under pressure
  • Working knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017, IRR17 and health and safety regulations
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 rosters and flexible approach

Desirable

  • Experience of a full range of general imaging services including theatre, MSK, IP/OPs and trauma imaging
  • Supervision of junior staff and/or student Radiographers
  • Adverse incident reporting
  • Evidence of additional responsibilities on General Modality
