Job description
Diagnostic Radiographer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Diagnostic Radiographer to join our imaging department at Kingston Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified or experienced radiographer to develop their skills in a supportive and forward‑thinking environment. The department provides a full range of diagnostic studies. The service currently undertakes more than 300,000 examinations per annum and has access to a full complement of imaging modalities.

As a band 5 Radiographer, you will be responsible for delivering high quality imaging services across a range of modalities, including general radiography, theatres and fluoroscopy, with opportunities to rotate into CT, Dental and Nuclear Medicine depending on service needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the safe and effective care of patients while producing diagnostic images to support accurate clinical decision making.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality imaging services to support patient diagnosis and care. The role involves undertaking a broad range of imaging examinations while ensuring patient safety, dignity and comfort, and offers opportunities for skill development and progression into specialist areas. The post holder will assess and treat their own workload of patients/clients, maintain associated records and also supervise Radiology assistants, support workers and students working with the post holder.

The post-holder would be expected to participate in the department’s shift system.
