Job summary

A technology organization is looking for a talented DevOps / Systems Engineer to enhance and govern cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive Azure expertise, and experience with Terraform and security principles. Key responsibilities include designing Azure landing zones, configuring network topologies, and collaborating with teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions. This is a fixed-term contract role based in the UK, with remote work options available. The remuneration is set at £700 per day via an Umbrella Company.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of shared services and governance within landing zone architecture.
• Proven experience using Terraform to deploy and manage Azure resources.
• Knowledge of Azure-native security tools and ability to embed security-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure landing zones, adhering to cloud architecture principles.
• Configure and optimize hub-and-spoke network topologies for seamless connectivity.
• Implement secure connectivity patterns, including VPN Gateways, VNETs, UDRs, and routing.
• Develop and maintain Terraform infrastructure-as-code modules and pipelines.
• Enhance cloud governance with Azure-native security controls, policies, and frameworks.
• Collaborate with security, data, and platform teams to deliver scalable and maintainable cloud solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Azure Landing Zone Competency: Strong grasp of shared services and governance within landing zone architecture. Experience with hub-and-spoke VNET topology, VPN Gateway configuration, VNETs, UDRs, and routing.
• Infrastructure as Code: Proven experience using Terraform to deploy and manage Azure resources.
• Security Focus: Knowledge of Azure-native security tools, including Azure Firewall, Azure Policy, and Network Security Groups (NSGs). Ability to embed security-by-design principles across cloud deployments.

Desirable Experience (Bonus)

• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or other cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
