Role

As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for delivering a large, complex software product, developing, managing and configuring the existing CI/CD pipelines.

Day‑to‑day you’ll assist in the deployment of the product to secure production environments and address any issues that arise.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and configuring CI/CD pipelines and applying relevant standards
  • Investigating and fixing issues with deployments
  • Producing documentation and delivering technical output to time, cost, and quality
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive team environment
  • Planning and estimating requirements for medium/large tasks
Essential Experience
  • Excellent understanding of DevOps with relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of containers and container orchestration (e.g. Docker / Podman, Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Previous experience of server infrastructure or 3rd‑line engineering
  • Ability to configure and use CI/CD pipelines and deploy distributed systems into containerised environments
  • Ability to proactively anticipate problems and solve them independently
Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) and offers hybrid working patterns.

PTP focuses on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring complex systems are designed, integrated and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
