Job description

We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Automation Lead to design, build, and operationalize automation solutions across non-production and production environments. The role is responsible for leading automation initiatives, developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) playbooks, and enabling large-scale productivity improvements within IT Managed Services and operations.

This position requires strong hands‑on expertise in automation platforms, DevOps tooling, and CI/CD practices, along with the ability to guide and mentor DevOps and Automation Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & DevOps Leadership

• Lead the setup, configuration, and management of automation platforms across non-production and production environments.

• Act as the automation focal point, working closely with Operations Leads to identify, prioritize, and deliver automation use cases.

• Collect automation requirements and guide DevOps/Automation Engineers in developing automation playbooks aligned to coding and security standards.

• Lead the design and implementation of DevOps and automation architectures to support project and operational needs.

Automation Development & Operationalisation

• Develop, migrate, and deploy automation playbooks to operationalize automation use cases and improve service delivery productivity.

• Build, maintain, and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation playbooks using tools and languages such as:

  • Ansible
  • Terraform (HCL)
  • Python
  • PowerShell
  • Chef (Ruby)
  • Groovy, JavaScript, Bash, and other scripting languages

• Operationalize automation solutions to ensure stability, scalability, and repeatability in day-to-day IT operations.

Testing, CI/CD & Code Governance

• Develop scripts for automated testing and execute automated test procedures across testing and production environments.

• Implement code control, versioning, and governance for IaC and automation playbooks.

• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for automation and infrastructure deployment.

• Ensure adherence to best practices in DevOps, security, and compliance.

Platform & Tool Management

• Manage and operate DevOps and automation platforms including:

  • Ansible
  • Terraform
  • GitLab

• Maintain operational SLAs and ensure platform availability, performance, and security.

• Support integration with enterprise tools such as ITSM platforms and other operational systems.

Stakeholder & Presales Support

• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align automation solutions with business objectives.

• Provide presales and solutioning support for automation initiatives, including solution design and technical input.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation scripts using one or more scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, Chef, Terraform, Groovy, PowerShell, Bash).
