The team

Some of the world’s best creative talent are at the heart of ITV Studios, with more than 60 production labels across scripted and non-scripted TV.

The role

With a 6-Month contract, the successful Development Trainee will be placed in one or more of ITV Studios’ labels. Working in the fast-paced world of non-scripted development, you will play a key role in shaping new content to pitch to broadcasters and streamers, help prepare pitching assets including format documents and sizzles. You will assist the teams on shoots and at run-throughs and help with the day-to-day admin of a development team. The ability to contribute to the creation of exciting new ideas is essential. During the six months, you will develop excellent editorial judgement, literary skills and will learn various ways to present your ideas in order to get buyers engaged.

What you’ll be doing
  • Coming up with new ideas for new TV Shows.
  • Assisting the creation of any pitch materials in order to sell the ideas,
  • Co-ordinating and assembling notes from development, production and commissioners on the relevant projects.
  • Attending brainstorms and contributing your own ideas for new content.
  • Contributing your own editorial opinion on TV formats.
  • Engaging with and promoting diversity within the content your label develops.
  • Assisting in the tracking of the companies’ slate and other day-to-day admin tasks.
  • Pitching ideas to potential buyers.
