  • Valid, in-date passport with no restrictions.
  • Continuously resided in UK for the previous 3 years, no more than 3 months overseas.
  • Over 21 years of age.
  • Full UK manual driving licence with at least 12 months post-qualifying experience.

Job description
Detention Custody Officer (DCO) – Immigration Services – France

Salary: £32,635 per annum; Hours: 42 hours per week (4 on/4 off rotating shift pattern). Must remain in France for duration of shift pattern. Accommodation, meals, travel provided. Requires valid UK passport or settled status, and UK manual driving licence held 1 year.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a holding room ensuring safety and security of residents in your custody.
  • Use strong communication and interpersonal skills, maintain a non-judgemental approach, solve problems effectively and stay calm under pressure.
  • Handle a wide variety of people who may be agitated, confused or angry sensitively.
Essential Qualifications
  • UK citizen, Commonwealth citizen with indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.
  • Valid, in-date passport with no restrictions.
  • Continuously resided in UK for previous 3 years, no more than 3 months overseas at a time.
  • Over 21 years of age.
  • Full UK manual driving licence with at least 12 months post‑qualifying experience.
  • Fewer than 7 points on licence.
  • No driving ban within previous 12 months.
  • Not currently bankrupt.
  • Subject to Enhanced DBS and Counter Terrorist Checked vetting.
Training & Development

Initial 4‑week training course (ITC). Continued support and mentoring over next 12 months to achieve Level 3 apprenticeship in Detention and Custody.
