A managed service provider is seeking a reliable and professional Deskside Support Engineer for an on-site role with a government client in Lytham St Annes. The ideal candidate will provide deskside support, troubleshoot various issues, and be knowledgeable in Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory. Job description

Our MSP client is seeking a reliable and professional Deskside Support Engineer to be based on-site with one of our government-sector clients in Lytham. This position requires a high level of customer service, technical competence, and professionalism, as you will be supporting end users in a secure and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite deskside support to sector users, ensuring all incidents and requests are resolved efficiently and in line with SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across Windows-based systems.
  • Build, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding, including Workstation setups and access management.
  • Perform routine maintenance and hardware refresh activities.
  • Maintain clear documentation, asset records, and ticket updates.
  • Collaborate with remote teams and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Adhere to security, compliance, and confidentiality requirements appropriate for government environments.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a deskside/2nd line support or similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and typical enterprise applications.
  • Confident in hardware builds, repairs, and imaging.
  • Must be able to commute to Lytham Monday to Friday.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support users of varying technical levels.
  • A proactive attitude and strong troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to work independently while representing our MSP professionally on-site.
  • Must be eligible for SC clearance.
