Job summary

A leading design consultancy is seeking a Design Manager for a 3-month contract based in Snowdonia. The candidate will take ownership of MEP design delivery and lead design coordination, ensuring integration of various design packages while coordinating between engineering teams and clients. Key qualifications include an MEP or MEICA design management background and strong communication skills. This role offers a competitive pay rate of £400 Umbrella PAYE.

Qualifications

  • Able to challenge quality and ensure output meets specifications.
  • Experience in communicating and leading technical discussions.

Role Overview

Design Manager – MEP (3‑month contract) supporting a major infrastructure project in Snowdonia. Responsibility is to take ownership of MEP design delivery, coordinate interfaces and ensure that technical documentation progresses to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage MEP design output and lead design coordination.

• Oversee integration of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA), High Voltage and Protection & Control design packages.

• Coordinate with engineering teams, suppliers, consultants and the client, ensuring all design stages meet standards and approval requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • MEP or MEICA design management background.
  • Experience managing and reviewing multidisciplinary design deliverables.
  • Ability to integrate MEICA, HV and Protection & Control designs into a coordinated solution.
  • Strong familiarity with design reviews, approvals, TQs and documentation flow.
  • Experience working with BIM/CAD and design control systems.
  • Able to challenge quality and ensure output meets specification and contract requirements.
  • Clear communication with confidence, leading coordination and technical discussions.
Contract Details

• 3‑month contract.

• Snowdonia based.
