I'm working with a well‑established main contractor in Central Scotland who is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their technical team. As Design Manager, you'll play a crucial role in guiding projects from tender through to handover, ensuring technical excellence and smooth coordination throughout the design process. You'll be involved in a range of new build design and build schemes that will test and develop both your leadership and technical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full design development process, from tender concept through to detailed design and delivery, within a main contracting environment.
• Lead and coordinate design meetings with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
• Review design information, identifying risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering solutions.
• Maintain strong commercial awareness, understanding how design decisions impact cost and programme.
• Ensure designs align with relevant standards, including a solid understanding of BREEAM requirements.
