Freelance Design Manager - Demolition Contractor (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid - Oxford / Gatwick / Site-Based / Remote

Contract: Freelance

Duration: 12 months+ (project-to-project / site-to-site)

Rate: Negotiable - open to all offers

MadiganGill are looking for an experienced Design Manager to work with a well-established demolition contractor on a long-term freelance basis. This role offers continuity of work for 12 months+, moving from site to site as projects progress.

The position is hybrid, combining working from home, site visits, and attendance at offices in Oxford and Gatwick as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process across demolition and enabling works projects
• Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Coordinate and lead a small design/technical team
• Ensure designs align with programme, health & safety, and compliance requirements
• Support both pre-construction and live project delivery

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Manager
• Demolition or enabling works background preferred
• Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Freelance availability and flexibility to move between sites
