The Role

The Design Engineer will be responsible for producing high-quality technical designs, specifications, schedules, CAD drawings, and documentation for advanced DC microgrid systems. From initial site surveys through to commissioning, the role involves delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable power systems suited to demanding project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out engineering calculations, optimise system performance, and ensure designs meet all safety, performance, and compliance standards.
  • Support commissioning activities, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
  • Develop solutions to overcome technical challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Strong technical skills in DC microgrid power distribution.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Microsoft Office and engineering analysis tools.
  • Customer‑focused approach and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience.
