A leading global children's charity is seeking a Design Assistant to contribute to the Creative Studio's visual content creation. The role involves assisting in digital and print design, editing photography and video, and creating merchandise artwork. Ideal for those at the start of their design career, this position requires creativity, attention to detail, and proficiency with design tools like Adobe Creative Cloud. A salary starting at £28,000+ based on experience is offered in a supportive, hybrid work environment.
Founded 24 years ago, Theirworld has grown to become a leading global children’s charity committed to the best start in life for children and young people by ending the education crisis and unleashing the potential of the next generation.
If you care about issues like climate change, gender equality, inclusion, helping refugees and ensuring the voices of young people are represented at all levels of decision‑making, then education is the key to unlocking big change in these areas. If you want to make change happen, join us!
We believe in unlocking big change from a supportive and inclusive environment. This is why we now have an innovative 4‑day‑working‑week which sees all employees working Monday to Thursday with the office closed on most Fridays.
This is in addition to hybrid working with most staff taking at least one day a week based in the office.
Theirworld is seeking a Design Assistant to support the hands‑on creation of visual content within our in‑house Creative Studio.
Our Creative Studio produces high‑quality visual materials for the charity’s campaigning, advocacy, fundraising and project work — including photography, short‑form video, social media assets, branded templates, infographics and print/digital materials.
This is a highly practical, creative role ideal for someone at the start of their design or content‑production career who wants to develop their skills across design, photography, video editing and digital asset creation.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with our Studio Manager, you will be part of a 10‑strong Marketing and Communications team and collaborate with internal teams and external creatives.
The Design Assistant will support hands‑on creative production across digital and print design, photo and video editing, and branded item development. Responsibilities include:
1. Design for digital, print and brand materials
Create and adapt on‑brand designs for a variety of outputs, including:
Prepare artwork files to correct print specifications and support quality checks on proofs.
2. Photography & Video Editing
3. Branded Items & Merchandise
4. Studio, team and organizational support
Starting at £28,000+ based on qualifications and experience.
