Location: Hertfordshire.

Working hours are 7.30am to 5pm.

About The Company

A leading provider of services for the agricultural, construction and horticultural sectors.

The Job Role Details

This is a hands-on leadership development role. You will work directly under the General Manager, assisting in the daily running of our yard and stores - which serve both agricultural and construction activities.

Over time, and with structured support, you will take on increasing responsibility and eventually lead these areas independently.

You'll be responsible for managing inventory and logistics, maintaining a safe and efficient site, and learning broader operational leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in overseeing all yard and store operations.
  • Help manage deliveries, collections, stock control, and ordering.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of lorries.
  • Operate a telescopic handler confidently and safely (experience required).
  • Maintain high standards of site organisation, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Assist with equipment and machinery maintenance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of site processes, layout and tidiness.
  • Liaise with other departments to support operational coordination.
  • Gradually take on more leadership responsibility across the yard and stores.
  • Structured Management Training on offer.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of yard equipment maintenance and logistics planning.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards or certifications (e.g., ISO, COSHH).
  • Strong experience in agricultural or construction environments.
  • Proficient with a telescopic handler (essential).
  • Forklift licence and full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Reliable, organised, and confident in supervising others.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Agricultural background or good understanding of rural settings is highly desirable.
