Location: Abergavenny, Monmouthshire
Salary: £44,922 - £46,542 per annum (inclusive of sleep-ins)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 2 sleep-ins followed by 3 days off

About the Role

We are recruiting a Deputy Manager for a children's residential home in Abergavenny, supporting three young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs arising from adverse childhood experiences (ACE). Working for one of the UK's leading providers of specialist education, residential childcare and therapeutic services, you will support the Registered Manager in the effective day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring outstanding care, safeguarding and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and deputise for the Registered Manager
  • Lead, mentor and supervise the residential care team
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and care planning
  • Support regulatory compliance
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Ensure a therapeutic, trauma‑informed approach to care
Requirements (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting
  • QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People
  • Experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Own vehicle
  • Ability to work a shift pattern including sleep‑ins
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
