Overview

Deputy Residential Manager - Children's Home. Full-time, Fixed Term (16 months - Maternity Cover). £50,000 - £56,000 per annum + benefits.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Deputy Manager with a positive outlook and a good sense of humour to join our children\'s home, supporting young people aged 13-17. This is a leadership role; you will need a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and extensive experience working in a children\'s home with teenagers (13-17 years old). While previous management experience is an advantage, we are also open to applications from experienced Senior Support Worker or Team Leader with supervisory skills who are ready to step up into management. As Deputy Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of Practitioners, ensuring that care is trauma-informed, nurturing, and consistently high quality. You\'ll help maintain compliance with the Children\'s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards, while fostering a culture rooted in love, kindness, authenticity, and professional integrity.

This is a 9-5 role, with the flexibility to cover two half-days per month at weekends to support the needs of the home.

  • Leading, supervising, and supporting staff to create a reflective and nurturing team environment
  • Promoting trauma-informed, child-centred practice at all times
  • Supporting staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management
  • Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and effective multi-agency collaboration
  • Modelling professional boundaries and best practice in all aspects of care
  • Leading activities that support young people\'s emotional, social, and educational growth
