Overview

Deputy Manager – Jollyes Pets - Southend. Salary £26,287 – 26,939 p.a. + bonus potential of £1-5k p.a*.

Supporting the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store, team management, store standards, stock management and delivering excellent customer service to our pet parents.

The Role – Deputy Manager

Support the Store Manager day-to-day and take full responsibility for all aspects of running a successful store in their absence. Managing people, financial performance, store standards, customer service.

Lead by example creating an excellent culture and working environment for your team, demonstrating our values of being: Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together.

Ensuring you and your team are delivering exceptional customer service by providing a great shopping experience for customers and displaying strong pet and product knowledge. (Training given).

Delivering the highest standards of pet care and ensure that the welfare of pets is a top priority, promoting responsible pet ownership.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in daily operations and take full responsibility in their absence.
  • Manage people, financial performance, store standards and customer service.

  • Ensure delivery of exceptional customer service with strong pet and product knowledge (training provided).
  • Maintain high standards of pet care and promote responsible pet ownership.
Skills & Qualifications
  • A passion for pets and people; delivering an unrivalled shopping experience.
  • Previous retail management experience, deputising for the Store Manager and managing the business daily.
  • A team player with effective communication and ability to build high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Proven track record in developing business performance and exceeding KPIs, with strong store standards including health & safety and legal compliance.
  • Commercially aware with proactive planning and organisational skills.
  • Full-time, permanent position – 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.
