Project Manager - Environment

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the Team at Galliford Try to work with our high performance delivery team on high value Yorkshire Water framework projects. Ideally you will be based in or around Yorkshire and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Assuming responsibility for the management of project delivery outputs including programme, financial position, health safety, environmental performance, and progress for all allocated schemes.
  • Having a good understanding of NEC 4 contract conditions and an astute commercial awareness.
  • Responsible for the daily management of multiple concurrent projects to ensure successful delivery against the project KPI's.
  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations, CDM (Construction, Design and Management), and Environmental legislation.
  • Reviewing and assessing in-house/subcontractor RAMS, Process Impact Assessments and Environmental legislation, and ensuring compliance with all company safety, environmental and quality systems.
  • Managing the project team, ensuring each member has a clear set of objectives.
  • Assuming responsibility for the financial performance of each project with overall responsibility for Profit/Loss on contracts undertaken.
  • Participating in monthly financial reviews for all schemes with the Commercial Manager, ensuring all Project Engineers prepare accurate financial performance reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company commercial and financial procedures.
  • Completing contract documentation, establishing and agreeing price variations and final accounts.
  • Developing, in conjunction with the project planner, a detailed project programme ensuring it is maintained to drive the project to key deliverable milestones.
  • Ascertaining preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions.
  • Coordinating and liaising with suppliers, specialist subcontractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams.
  • Procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ensuring project resources are made available to attend/undertake factory site and works testing, commissioning and client training.
  • Ensuring all contract documentation such as "As built" drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals are prepared in line with the client specifications and Galliford Try/client closeout timescales.
Qualifications
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) or CITB (Construction Industry Training Body) 5-Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS) card.
  • CSCS card.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the waste and/or water industries.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate time management to comply with deadlines.
