Overview

Delivery Manager – Moors For the Future Partnership
Edale, Hope Valley
£35,412 to £38,220 per annum

The Role

We are looking for an experienced team leader to help our conservation and land management team deliver an annual programme of moorland restoration projects as part of the award-winning Moors for the Future Partnership. As we enter another 5 year period of work funded by our partners, this post will ensure that both contracts and quality standards are delivered well.

Working as the deputy to the Conservation and Land Programme Manager, you will help the operational team develop and deliver creative land management solutions to affect positive landscape scale change through targeted project work. There will be both desk-based and field work, with the emphasis upon developing and delivering conservation projects. There will be a need to travel extensively throughout the Peak District and South Pennines.

This is a fixed-term role which ends in September 2026, with a likely extension to 2030.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams in the delivery of practical land management and nature conservation projects, and engage contractors to support such work.
  • Ensure quality standards are upheld by both staff and contractors.
  • Work across desk-based and field-based project activities, focusing on developing and delivering conservation projects.
  • Travel extensively throughout the Peak District and South Pennines.
  • Support project delivery as deputy to the Conservation and Land Programme Manager, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously without close supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of leading teams in the delivery of practical land management and nature conservation projects, and engaging contractors.
  • Knowledge of how to uphold quality standards for staff and contractors.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of GIS systems.
  • HND in an environmental or related subject, or equivalent, with at least 4 years’ countryside management experience or similar land-based work.
  • Ability to lead a team on multiple projects at the same time with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in land management for nature conservation and wider ecosystem services, preferably within uplands and protected landscapes.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with project managers, partner organisations, landowners, land managers (e.g., farmers and gamekeepers), voluntary organisations, and volunteer groups.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and collaborative approach to adapt projects when changes occur while still delivering outcomes.
