About the team:

Our mission is to build and maintain a world‑class knowledge graph that serves as the backbone of Elsevier’s solutions, delivering valuable insights and analysis to our customers. As a central Data Engineering organisation, we are committed to developing innovative solutions that enhance the quality of our data, enable new data‑driven products, and improve the efficiency of our products and services. Ultimately, our goal is to advance science, healthcare, and society through the power of data.

The Portfolio and Agile team is a key support function within Data Engineering, with a mission to enable teams to focus on doing the right work at the right time, with the right capacity—delivering value predictably, sustainably, and at scale.

About the role:

As a Delivery Manager, you will work closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery of high‑value products and initiatives. You will help teams plan effectively, remove impediments, and deliver incremental value predictably and sustainably. You will be a servant leader—supporting teams to self‑organise, collaborate, and continuously improve through the application of agile principles. You’ll make delivery visible and transparent through effective use of metrics, tools, and communication, ensuring stakeholders are informed and confident in progress.

Working within the Portfolio and Agile team, you’ll collaborate with peers and senior Delivery Managers to enhance delivery practices and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement across Data Engineering.

Key responsibilities:
  • Partnering with engineering and product teams to plan, execute, and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
  • Facilitating agile ceremonies and ensuring delivery alignment with team and business priorities.
  • Tracking progress, managing risks, and removing blockers to maintain predictable delivery.
  • Communicating status, progress, and challenges transparently with stakeholders.
  • Promoting continuous improvement by encouraging reflection, experimentation, and learning.
  • Using delivery metrics and data to support informed decisions and drive improvement.
  • Contributing to team growth by sharing best practices and lessons learned.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience managing or facilitating delivery in agile or cross‑functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience applying them effectively.
  • Strong organisational and facilitation skills, with attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Ability to identify and remove delivery impediments and coordinate across teams when needed.
  • Clear and confident communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for delivery excellence and supporting teams to achieve their best.
  • Agile certification (e.g. Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Master) is desirable.
