Requirements:
- + years of experience as a DB Database Administrator involved in Development, Enhancements, and Production Support.
- Certified IBM DB DBA or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience in DBA activities like implementing data maintenance, authorization, privileges for DB access, and regular backup and recovery activities.
- Experience in operational support, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Result-oriented, customer-focused with a healthy relationship with team members.
- + years of experience as a DB DBA on Mainframes.
Skills:
- Operating Systems: Windows XP, Linux, AIX, AWS EC2
- Database: DB on open systems
- Database Tools: dbtop, dbadvise, dbpd, dbdart, dblook, dbsupport, SPUFI, QMF, QREP, DB Admin tool, Log analyzer
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Providing production support.
- Providing solutions to application teams.
- Working on both logical and physical partitioning databases.
- Data refresh in development regions.
- Involved in DB version upgrade.
- Participating in quarterly disaster recovery activities.
- Restorations of databases and redirect restorations.
- Responsible for DB backups and recovery in both standalone and DPF environments.
- Creating various DB objects like databases, tablespaces, tables, views, and indexes.
- Configuring HADR between servers.
- Supporting various Windows applications like Philbert, WinSQL, and NLP.
- Involved in disaster recovery exercises.
- Cataloging mainframe databases in open systems to make them available to open system users.
- Resolving user issues related to databases.
- Granting and revoking user access.
- Monitoring tools: top, dbtop, dbpd, snapshots.
- Working with partitioned tables, materialized query tables, and views.
- Performing database restorations based on business requirements.
- Performing tablespace level backups and restorations.
- Supporting DB tools like IBM Data Studio, Rational Manager, and IBM Installation Manager.
- Working with Q Replication.
- Incident and change management using HPSM.
