Responsibilities
  • Assess children’s development to prepare individualized learning plans.
  • Assist co‑workers with housekeeping and cooking duties.
  • Develop and implement child‑care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out developmentally appropriate programs.
  • Lead activities by storytelling, singing, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Assist in keeping records and submitting written observations on children.
  • Engage children in activities, including crafts, storytelling, and songs.
  • Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss child progress and concerns.
