Wescot Credit Services Limited is seeking a Data Services Team Lead. The role involves managing a small team of data developers responsible for the extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) of data for the company and the support/management of the company’s Data Warehouse. The position requires a strong background in Microsoft SSIS, SAP Data Services, and custom C# load programs, and will contribute to a major core system migration.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business specifications into efficient technical designs.
  • Develop and test ETL solutions, ensuring quality and performance.
  • Document technical designs and operational procedures.
  • Ensure service delivery across BAU and program work.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Line manage and develop a team of skilled data developers.
  • Oversee the delivery of complex data projects from design to release.
  • Estimate resource requirements and collaborate with Project Managers and Business Analysts.
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and manage risks and issues.
  • Support project resource scheduling and capacity planning.
Position Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of SSIS/SSRS/SSAS or similar technology.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data quality and cleansing techniques.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar source control.
  • Knowledge of REST/SOAP Web Services and ability to troubleshoot, tune, and optimise ETL packages.
  • Experience in mentoring/coaching junior staff and strong communication/documentation skills.
  • Understanding of Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
  • Educated to degree level in an IT related discipline; financial services experience a plus.
Desired Skills
  • Understanding of the C&R Debt Manager platform.
  • Experience with automated unit testing (MS Test/NUnit/Xunit).
  • XML, JSON, SAP ETL, Power Query/Power Data/Power BI, Event Sourcing.
