Qualifications

  • Part 3 trained is highly desirable.
  • Substantial Data Protection / FOI experience, particularly around decision making.
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment.

Location: Hybrid/Gloucester – 2 days per week in office
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £32.28 per hour

Spinwell is recruiting for a Data Protection Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

To be the focal point in the Force providing advice on Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and Information Sharing matters ensuring implementation of all necessary policies, procedures and other measures in compliance with the Authorised Professional Practice (APP) for Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Information Sharing.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE DATA PROTECTION OFFICER
  • DP Qualified (Part 2 and Part 3) - Part 3 trained is highly desirable as a qualification – if someone only had part 2 without any exposure or understating to part 3 this would not be acceptable
  • Previous Experience in policing
  • Proven Experience in data protection, ideally in the public section
  • Hold a professional Data Protection and/or FOI qualification
  • Proven substantial Data Protection / FOI experience, particularly around decision making
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment and able to demonstrate a high level of personal integrity
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (as the role requires the postholder to present at meetings and complete reports both internally and externally)
  • Able to demonstrate accuracy to detail
