Overview

A Windsor-based organisation is seeking a proactive Data Protection Executive to join their compliance team. This role offers flexibility with either full-time or part-time hours, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to build their career in data protection within a supportive environment. The role is primarily home-based with occasional office visits in Windsor, Berkshire (two or three times a month). Candidates must live within one hour of Windsor. Salary between £30,000 and £35,000 dependent on experience.

Main responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) using the One Trust privacy tool
  • Support the handling of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and ensure timely responses
  • Help track data breach and incident reports, supporting incident response processes as needed
  • Coordinate with internal teams to collect privacy-related documentation and evidence (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Assist with annual policy and process reviews
  • Support audits by collecting evidence or documentation related to data protection and compliance
  • Monitor data privacy mailboxes and respond to or escalate queries as appropriate
Skills and qualifications
  • Understanding of UK GDPR and data protection principles
  • Experience in a data protection, compliance, or governance role (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively across teams and manage competing priorities
  • Confident working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
