Job summary

A dynamic secondary school in Lewisham seeks a dedicated Data Officer to manage the School Information System and support staff and students with data insights. The role involves developing systems, analyzing data, and producing reports to improve educational outcomes. Strong experience in data management, communication, and organizational skills are essential. This is a term-time only role with a pro-rata salary based on 35 hours per week over 43 weeks a year.

You ll work at the heart of the school, supporting teachers, leadership, and students by turning complex information into actionable insights.

The Data Officer is responsible for:

  • Manage and develop the School Information System (MIS) to ensure accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Collect, analyze, and report performance and contextual data to support precise target-setting and assessment.
  • Develop systems and databases that enhance teaching, learning, and school-wide decision-making.
  • Assist with the creation and management of timetables.
  • Support staff in using MIS and other data-related IT systems, providing advice and training where needed.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports for leadership, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends in school data systems and recommend improvements.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience in data management, reporting, and analysis, ideally within an educational setting. Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and statistical tools. A proactive approach with strong communication and organisational skills.

Hours: 35 hours/week, 43 weeks/year.
