About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Insight Officer with the required skills and experience to join the Business Intelligence Service within the Strategic Planning and Performance Directorate. Reporting to our Data Insight Manager (Surveys), you will design and develop data and dashboards for a variety of users, providing visibility and insights into our students’ and staff’s experience, and identify areas of concern. You will apply the most appropriate analytical techniques and tools to bring together qualitative and quantitative survey data from different sources, to derive meaningful and actionable insights.

Cambridge or Chelmsford based with the potential flexibility to work from home 2‑3 days a week as agreed with line manager.

We welcome applications from individuals with strong analytical and data modelling expertise, as well as experience in developing easy‑to‑understand and actionable data insight dashboards. The ideal candidate will be confident working with large and complex datasets from different sources and skilled at transforming them into meaningful, actionable insights.

The role requires excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, alongside proactivity, resilience, and flexibility to work in a fast‑paced and pressurised environment.

A background in Higher Education is not essential to this role. With a degree and appropriate level of experience and evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role or be part qualified in a relevant professional qualification and have appropriate level of experience and evidence of continuing professional development, you will have experience in using a range of tools and advanced techniques combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
