Overview

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hour per week. Hybrid working (mainly remote one day / week in office). Are you passionate about turning complex data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decisions Birmingham City Council is seeking a Data Insight & Analytics Officer to join our Refugees & Migration Team within Adult Social Care Commissioning. This newly created role responds to emerging workstreams around asylum resettlement and migration where data is critical to understanding community needs and informing citywide planning.

As Data Insight & Analytics Officer you will be responsible for organising incoming data from government and providers developing visual insights and helping the team build a consistent approach to data interpretation. Your work will directly influence decisions on property procurement community safety and strategic planning for newly arrived communities. Youll work closely with stakeholders to develop dashboards visualise trends and provide actionable insights that inform policy and service delivery. Responsibilities
  • Synthesise external datasets (e.g. property lists ethnicity data employment stats) into actionable insights.
  • Develop dashboards and visual tools to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to improve data flow and consistency.
  • Support the City of Sanctuary programme and other migration-related initiatives. This is more than a data role it's a chance to make a real difference in the lives of people arriving and settling in Birmingham. Youll be part of a team that leads the citys strategic work on migration including the City of Sanctuary programme and supports vulnerable communities through evidence-based decision-making.
