We're looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our team at a salary of up to £35,000 plus benefits, offering hybrid working from Redhill, Exeter, or Bristol. This role provides the chance to tackle complex data governance challenges, ensure compliance, and drive data integrity – all with autonomy and ongoing development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Data Governance Analyst, you'll be key to maintaining the accuracy, security, and usability of enterprise data. You'll support and enhance data governance frameworks, policies, and standards while collaborating across teams to embed best practices throughout the data lifecycle.

What you'll be doing
  • Promote and champion data governance principles across the organisation
  • Support data quality, metadata, and master data management initiatives
  • Develop and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures
  • Implement governance changes and gain stakeholder buy‑in
  • Monitor compliance and elaborate issues when needed
  • Facilitate data stewardship and maintain glossaries/catalogues
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to align governance with data strategies
  • Conduct data quality assessments and support remediation
  • Maintain metadata repositories and data lineage documentation
  • Support data classification and access controls
  • Provide training to enhance data literacy and reduce risks
What we’re looking for
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Experience with data catalogs and metadata management
  • Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Purview and Azure data technologies (SQL, Data Factory, Data Lake)
  • Proven ability to implement policies across diverse enterprises
  • Experience working in cross‑functional IT teams
  • Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and preferably MS Azure certifications
