Job description
Overview

Are you a caring and compassionate person looking for a fresh or new opportunity? We may have the role for you at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP). We have a full-time Clinical Support Worker vacancy within our CHEDS service, Ancora House.

A clinical support worker with a specialist interest in working with young people with eating disorders will be part of the CHEDS team and will have a key role in assisting young people in their recovery.

We are based at Ancora House (Countess of Chester Hospital site), an in-patient child and adolescent mental health service with 26 beds across two wards: Coral and Indigo. The service works closely with locality ED community teams within CAMHS across CWP and Merseyside. The main aim is to reduce and prevent hospital admission to paediatric wards, tier 4 CAMHS units or a specialist eating disorder unit.

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week. Vacancy may close early if a high number of applications are received. The Trust supports the Real Living Wage and applies a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and promote a therapeutic relationship with service users.
  • Practical meal support and therapeutic group delivery.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and assist in all aspects of the clinical ward environment.
  • Assist in procedures relating to individualised total patient care under the supervision of a primary nurse.
  • Carry out other duties identified by senior staff to meet the needs and demands of the service and patient care.
  • Contribute to day-to-day running of the service as part of the CHEDS team.
Qualifications and Recruitment
  • Undergo the recruitment process based on competence and values as described in the Trust’s person specification.
  • Values-based interviews to explore how you do things and why you do them; review the Trust’s Values and provide examples from work or personal life.
  • Applicants may be eligible for the Guaranteed Interview Scheme if they meet the essential criteria under the Equality Act 2010 and other schemes noted in the advert.
Additional Information
  • New starters commence on one fixed start date each month in line with the Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme. P2C offers up to 3 weeks of training.
  • DBS check: applicants pay for their DBS check (costs deducted from salary after appointment). Enrolment in the DBS Update Service is encouraged (small annual fee).
  • New entrants to the NHS start at the minimum of the stated scale.
  • We welcome applications from people with direct experience of using our services and from armed forces communities; we are Disability Confident, Rainbow Badge Scheme member, Veteran Aware, and hold the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award.
