Customer Service Representative (Packaging Industry) – Derby. Location: Derby. Full Time | Permanent. Salary: DOE. Start Date: ASAP.
Are you a customer focused professional looking to join a fast paced, forward thinking company in the packaging industry? We are working with a well established and growing packaging manufacturer that prides itself on quality, innovation, and service. They are looking to appoint a proactive, organised, and relationship driven Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join their internal commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a dynamic, cross functional role where you\'ll work closely with customers, sales, planning, and production to ensure a seamless end to end service experience.
Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for a portfolio of customers, supporting them through the full order lifecycle from enquiry to delivery.
- Building strong, long term relationships with customers and providing excellent day to day service.
- Entering and processing all sales orders within 24 hours of receipt.
- Managing enquiries, resolving issues within 24 to 48 hours, and keeping customers informed.
- Coordinating with production, planning, and purchasing to ensure materials and schedules align with order requirements.
- Supporting the external sales team with product trials, order tracking, and admin.
- Monitoring customer forecasts and usage to help purchasing manage raw material supply.
- Raising job packs 5 days in advance and ensuring they are accurate and complete.
- Handling customer complaints promptly, escalating to the appropriate teams when necessary.
- Managing redundant designs and working with internal teams and customers for review or disposal.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures including BRC and FSC.
What We\'re Looking For
- Proven experience in customer service, account coordination, or internal sales.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or packaging environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Detail oriented with a proactive, solution focused approach.
- Comfortable using internal systems and working cross functionally with various departments.
- A genuine team player with a strong customer first mindset.
Working Hours and Benefits
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:30
- Friday 08:30 to 15:00
- 30 minute unpaid lunch break
