A local education authority in Edinburgh is seeking a Curriculum Leader of Technology for Leith Academy. This fixed-term role requires leadership skills to guide students in Design Technology, while collaborating with fellow educators. Candidates should have experience in Business Education and Admin, and a strong IT background. The position works 7.45 hours weekly, with an attractive salary of £66,606 pro-rata for part-time positions.
Curriculum Leader of Technology – Leith Academy. Salary: £66,606 - £66,606 (pro-rata for part-time). Hours: 7.45 per week. Working pattern for role is Wednesday only. The post is fixed term until 26 June 2026 and will be for a Wednesday only.
You will be able to use your leadership skills to support young people to develop the skills, confidence and motivation to access mainstream provision. You will work alongside the current Curriculum Leader of Technologies (D&T) to provide a range of subjects within the Design Technology field. The courses run across Broad General Education and in National Qualification, SCQF courses in the senior phase (S4-S6). The successful candidate should have experience of and expertise in Business Education, Admin and Computing/IT. Having previous leadership and management experience working dynamically across teams of professionals would also be a positive advantage. The role will have an active involvement in the ongoing development of IT provision across the school including use of iPads, Apple TV\'s, laser cutters and 3D printers.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
