A leading further education provider in Stafford is seeking an experienced Curriculum Leader in Engineering. The role involves planning and delivering high-quality programmes, mainly at Levels 4 and 5, in a supportive and innovative environment. CURRICULUM LEADER ENGINEERING (ANY SPECIALISM CONSIDERED)

Location: Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology (IoT) in Stafford and NSCG Stafford Campus

Faculty: Skills and Technology

Salary: Total overall package of up to £66,613 in year 1 as follows:

  • Salary – £36,846 – £47,133
  • Employer Pension Contributions up to £13,480
  • Golden Hello Payment: up to £5,000 OR DfE bursary up to £6,000 (if in 1st 5 years of teaching – subject to terms & conditions)

Full-time: 37 hours per week

Holiday: 52 days per year (inclusive of Bank holidays & Christmas closure)

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the very best colleges in the country. The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers.

We are looking for an experienced Curriculum Leader in Engineering to plan, implement and delivery high quality engineering programmes from levels 3 to 5 but predominantly Level 4 / 5 to support with the growth in our Higher Education (HE) engineering student numbers.

The successful applicant will be predominantly based at our new £25m Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology in Stafford with excellent facilities and equipment to include an Advanced Manufacturing Learning Factory and a Product Design Centre.

Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader who has a proven track record of innovation and a passion for leading a team and teaching with the ability to make lessons engaging and industry-relevant.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To support the Vice Principal - Institute of Technology and the Curriculum Manager with the journey to becoming the innovative technical education provider of choice for the region.

To plan, implement and delivery high quality engineering programmes predominantly Level 4 / 5 to support with the growth in our Higher Education (HE) engineering student numbers.

  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring of student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of internal and external exams, developing and preparing a range of flexible and innovative learning materials.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Has experience in one or more engineering discipline and has relevant industrial experience within the sector. Electrical Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics experience desirable.
  • Technically and occupationally competent in their field of engineering and the willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Holds teaching qualifications from FE / HE sector.
  • Has excellent organisation and communication skills.
