A regional education provider in Wakefield is seeking a Curriculum Development Manager for Construction, responsible for leading curriculum development and enhancing student outcomes. Job description
Curriculum Development Manager – Construction

Salary: £46,043 to £48,845 per annum, plus a 10% recruitment incentive.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Location: Wakefield College.

Here in the Construction team at the Heart of Yorkshire Education group, we're not just teaching – we're creating a dynamic partnership with local and regional employers to provide our learners with an immersive, industry‑rich educational experience.

As Curriculum Development Manager, you will support the Head of Construction in shaping our curriculum, managing resources, and guiding colleagues, while elevating student outcomes through performance tracking and inspiration, alongside your annual teaching commitment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, reviewing, and developing the Construction curriculum.
  • Provide leadership for the development of up‑to‑date materials and resources to support construction curriculum development, teaching, and learning.
  • Help improve the delivery of the schemes of work and the assessment, recording, and reporting processes for student achievement.
  • Monitor the curriculum area’s performance against Key Performance Indicators, especially in relation to recruitment, retention, attendance, and success targets.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification of equivalent level or equivalent industry experience.
  • GCSE in English and Maths A*‑C/9‑4 or equivalent.
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in a relevant Construction discipline.
  • Successful experience of teaching within the Construction curriculum.
  • Proven track record of improving the learner experience and ability to make accurate judgments about the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Experience working with relevant external organisations.
