Job Title: Day Critical Engineer (Water / Plumbing Bias)

Location: Farnborough, UK

Contract Type: Permanent - Days

Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum + Performance rewards.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Trevett Services are recruiting a Day Critical Engineer with a strong water systems / plumbing bias to support a Data Centre / Critical Environment site in Farnborough. This role is responsible for the safe operation, statutory compliance, and maintenance of all domestic and processed water systems across the campus.

Reporting to the Data Centre Manager, you will act as the site point of contact for water systems, delivering planned and reactive maintenance, supporting minor works, and ensuring compliance with ACoP L8 and wider health & safety legislation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as site lead and primary point of contact for all water systems
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance in line with statutory and site requirements
  • Complete weekly flushing, monthly temperature checks, and inspections of CWSTs, RO systems, and air optimisers
  • Respond to reactive and corrective water system breakdowns
  • Undertake statutory inspections and ensure compliance with ACoP L8 and H&S regulations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, site logbooks, and critical spares registers
  • Carry out minor plumbing works, repairs, and small project tasks
  • Assist with subcontractor supervision and hosting
  • Liaise with the Data Centre Manager on PPM scheduling and annual planners
  • Produce RAMS, site surveys, and works requests for planned activities
  • Use PDA / CMMS systems to update tasks, reports, and communications
  • Carry out basic drainage and sewage works where required
  • Maintain a professional relationship with client representatives and stakeholders
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard
  • Support additional reasonable duties as directed by site management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Qualifications
  • City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Engineering
  • 18th Edition Electrical (BS7671)
Desirable Qualifications
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Experience supervising subcontractors
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Level 3 Legionella Awareness
  • Disinfection of Water Supply Systems in Buildings (WS3)
  • Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV) - WS13
  • Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (WREG)
  • Proven experience maintaining water systems within Critical Environments or complex sites
  • Strong knowledge of ACoP L8, water hygiene, and statutory compliance
  • Experience producing and working to RAMS
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures (COSHH, Working at Height, Risk Assessments)
  • PC literate with experience using CMMS / PDA systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
