Job description

Creative Industries Lecturer – Vocal Coach and Accompanist

Salary: £25,374 - £49,937 pro rata\t

Help to shape the future of vocal talent at Cardiff and Vale College. Based at our innovative City Centre Campus on Dumballs Road, you'll have the opportunity to nurture talent in a vibrant and well-equipped environment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct vocal training sessions for students of all skill levels.
  • Teach proper vocal techniques, including breath control, pitch, tone, and diction.
  • To teach on a variety of Performing Arts courses including Musical Theatre.
  • Provide feedback and constructive criticism to help students improve.
  • Prepare students for performances and auditions,
  • Organise and conduct group singing classes.
  • Monitor and track student progress.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in music and vocal training.
  • Assist students in selecting appropriate repertoire.
  • Plan and execute performances
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.

This academic years the hours for this role are 14.8 per week, however these are reviewed each academic year.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation evidenced by a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music, Vocal Performance, or a relevant subject area.
