Cover Supervisor & Learning Resources and Education Centre Assistant

Location: Southwest London
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £100–£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are working in partnership with a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Ealing to recruit a Cover Supervisor & LREC Assistant for a full-time role starting this September. This is a fantastic dual opportunity for a confident individual with a passion for education, classroom management, and literacy support.

This is a hybrid role combining responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor and a Learning Resources and Education Centre (LREC) Assistant. You will provide classroom supervision in the absence of teaching staff and support the day-to-day running of the school’s library and learning resource centre.

As a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

As an LREC Assistant:

  • Support students in accessing and using library and learning resources
  • Organise and maintain books, digital resources, and displays
  • Promote a positive reading culture across the school
  • Supervise students in the LREC during study periods, breaks, and lunch

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with young people in a school setting
  • Be confident in managing a classroom independently
  • Be organised, proactive, and passionate about supporting literacy
  • Have good IT skills and be comfortable with library systems (training provided)
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS certificate
