An educational institution in the UK is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support students across various subjects. This role involves supervising classrooms, managing behavior, and providing support for students with Special Educational Needs. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to build relationships, and a commitment to safeguarding. Benefits include generous leave, pension schemes, and well-being support.
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our team, supporting students across a range of subjects and year groups. This is a vital role that ensures continuity of learning during the short-term absence of class teachers, whether planned or unplanned. You will supervise whole classes or small groups, ensuring students remain engaged with the curriculum tasks set by their teacher, while managing behaviour effectively and minimising disruption to learning.
When not covering lessons, you will play an active role in supporting students within the classroom, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You may also be involved in exam invigilation, delivering interventions, supporting duties for absent staff, or any other reasonable student-facing responsibilities. The postholder will administrate the planned and unplanned teaching cover requirements of the Academy, ensure the cover organised is of a high standard, is cost effective and meets Academy needs.
The postholder is responsible for co-ordinating lesson cover in line with Academy procedures and national guidelines. This role will involve an early morning start of 6.30am in order to ensure accessibility to the best agency teaching staff and meet the high expectations of the Academy.
