Overview

Cover Supervisor needed – Salford – Step Teachers

We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to provide regular work at a secondary school in Swinton, Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining classroom experience, supporting teaching and learning, and helping students succeed. Offering day-to-day cover as well as short-term and long-term placements.

Role and Details
  • Role: Cover Supervisor
  • Location: Swinton, Salford
  • Start: ASAP
  • Contract: Day-to-day, short term or long term cover opportunities
  • Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
  • Pay: Up to £110/day DOE (paid PAYE)
  • Equal pay to perm staff in same role from 13th week

Duties as a Cover Supervisor
  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Provide support for students’ learning and wellbeing
  • Assist with general school duties when not covering lessons
Ideal Cover Supervisor
  • Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills as a Cover Supervisor
  • Confidence in managing groups of students
  • Ability to adapt quickly and use initiative
  • A positive, professional, and reliable approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
What we need from you
  • You must have graduated in the last 5 years
  • An up-to-date CV with 10-year work history
  • Proof of Right to Work, ID & Address in the UK
  • Valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
  • Min. of 2 professional references covering the last 2 years
  • Overseas police check (if applicable)
  • A positive, punctual, patient and professional approach is a must
