A leading NHS organisation in Wales is seeking a Counsellor to join its Newport & Caerphilly Primary Care Mental Health Support Service. This role is focused on providing support to adults with mild to moderate or stable severe mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate degree in counselling and experience delivering psychological interventions. The position offers a full-time, permanent contract with a supportive environment promoting professional development and flexible working arrangements.
Working within the legislative framework of part One of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure, to improve access to mental health support at a primary care level for people with mild to moderate or stable severe mental health needs within the context of a multi‑disciplinary, multi‑agency Primary Care Mental Health Support Service (PCMHSS). The service is delivered to working‑age adults, older adults and people with a learning disability.

PCMHSS is an age‑inclusive service for people across the life span. The teams are seeking to appoint a Counsellor to specialise in supporting adults. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Skills: Assessment and formulation, capacity to apply psychological approaches, facilitation of group‑based interventions.
Experience: Quantified experience of delivering brief, focused counselling and evidence‑based psychological interventions.
Qualifications: Post‑graduate degree / degree in counselling, member of a relevant professional body.
