This leading Legal 500 firm is seeking an experienced Corporate/Commercial Partner to lead the development of this new department. This is a strategic role with significant scope for autonomy, offering the chance to build a team, shape the firm’s corporate offering, and play a central role in its next stage of growth.
You will have responsibility for developing and implementing a strategy for the department, establishing best practice processes, and recruiting and mentoring a team of talented solicitors and support staff. The role will involve advising clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, and complex commercial contracts. You will be expected to bring strong technical expertise, the ability to manage sophisticated transactions, with strong commercial acumen.
Alongside your legal work, you will take responsibility for the financial performance of the department, ensuring long-term profitability and growth. You will also be central to business development, building on the firm’s strong existing referral network – particularly with the dispute resolution team – and developing new opportunities through networking, marketing, and raising the firm’s profile in the corporate market.
Lead the development of the Corporate/Commercial department, including: devising and implementing a strategic plan, establishing best practice processes, and recruiting and mentoring a team of solicitors and support staff. Advise clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, and complex commercial contracts. Manage sophisticated transactions with strong technical and commercial acumen. Oversee the department’s financial performance and drive long-term profitability. Lead business development to expand the firm’s corporate offering and pipeline through existing networks and new opportunities.
We are looking for a commercially minded corporate/commercial partner to establish and grow a new department. You will already have a strong track record of advising on a wide range of corporate transactions and commercial matters, as well as experience building and maintaining high-value client relationships. Leadership skills will be essential, as will the ability to inspire confidence in both clients and colleagues.
