Job description

As a Cook, your focus will be in the kitchen, helping to prepare and present delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors. Using the framework of our 'National Trust Cookbook', you'll prepare, measure and mix ingredients. You'll help with deliveries and keep the kitchen clean, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and that service runs smoothly. We'll give you an induction that fits the job, training in allergens and food safety, and mentoring to support you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately.
  • Assist with delivery of ingredients and maintain kitchen cleanliness and health‑and‑safety compliance.
  • Serve food directly to visitors.
  • Participate in induction, allergen and food safety training, and receive ongoing mentoring.
  • Sign up for further professional training and development if desired.

Additional Information

Hours & Working Pattern

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Shifts 8:30 am – 4:30 pm on 5 days within a 7‑day period. Weekend working required.

Salary

£24,862.50 per annum (or £12.75 per hour).
