We run 185 cafes all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to be a part of it.

We’re looking for a Cook to join us.

  • Hours: *This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1950 per year, which is 37.5 hours per week on average, including weekends and holidays. You'll work slightly more in the summer (approx. 40 hours) and less in the winter (approx. 35 hours).
  • Salary: *24,862 per annum
  • Duration: *Permanent

What it's like to work here

Nestled on the edge of the stunning Peak District, Longshaw Cafe continues to go from strength to strength since it was extended 4 years ago.

We're now looking to add 2 Cooks to our friendly and welcoming kitchen team.

From batch baking, soup making and plating for service, you'll need to be a good all-rounder to support the Head Chef drive the business forward and provide excellent service to our thousands of visitors.

It's fast paced and hard work, but no two days are the same, and you'll be working in the beautiful surrounds of the Longshaw Estate.

Standard shifts are 8:30am – 4:30pm, so please think about how you will get to work.

What you'll be doing

As a Cook, your focus will be in the kitchen, helping to prepare and present delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Your food will be served directly to visitors. Using the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’, you’ll prepare, measure and mix ingredients.

You’ll help with deliveries and with keeping the kitchen clean, to be compliant with health and safety legislation and to make sure that service runs smoothly. We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.
