Position Overview

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring a good standard of quality control during preparations, cooking and dispatch of food. This will include documentation of the process in accordance with a safe food system.
  • To prepare special diets.
  • Serving meals and taking cash for the dining room as necessary.
  • Responsible for practising good hygiene in all aspects of the catering department and maintaining a good standard of personal hygiene.
  • Assisting with the washing/drying up at lunchtime.
  • Ensuring that all freezers/fridges are cleaned and defrosted regularly.
  • To complete food orders when required.
  • Assisting with ward store orders.
  • To be responsible for the induction and training of new catering staff and ensuring all training is documented.
  • Responsible for taking receipt of goods and putting them away in the appropriate areas.
  • Accepting and checking delivery of goods as necessary.
  • The handling of money and filling in the appropriate form.
  • To attend training courses and meetings when required.
  • Reporting incidents.
