Overview

The Cook role is for Alliston house - Residential Care Home for Older people living with Dementia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for residents on a daily basis.
• Ensure a variety of meals are offered, including cultural and dietary options.
• Order food supplies, manage stock, and rotate stocks appropriately.
• Maintain the safe running of the kitchen and meet all statutory organisational requirements (CQC & Environmental Health).
• Attend training relevant to the role.
• Be responsible for ensuring food safety and hygiene practices in the kitchen.
• Hold relevant cooking qualifications; minimum Food Hygiene Level 2.
• Enhanced DBS.
• Understand and apply the dietary needs of older people living with dementia.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 6 months in a residential kitchen setting for older people (65+) living with dementia is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.

Working hours

Post is for 21 hours per week (alternative weekends and bank holidays) with the opportunity to do extra hours if required.
