A leading recruitment agency is seeking two experienced Controls Service Engineers to provide service and repair on Siemens PLC controlled automation solutions. Candidates should have over 3 years of experience with Siemens TIA Portal and be flexible in traveling across the UK. Qualifications

  • Profinet fault finding experience is distinctly advantageous.
  • Experience in highly automated environments is beneficial.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative and reactive service and repair activities.
  • Provide out of hours standby support on a fortnightly rota.
  • Initially provide remote or telephone assistance; escalate when necessary.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Carry out hardware fault-finding and resolution.

Overview

Controls Service Engineer x2 – Siemens PLCs

Telford, Shropshire

To £55k + £4,800 Car allowance + generous overtime

Our Telford based client has been established for almost 20 years and are recognised as leading providers of all aspects of hardware and software design through to robot systems integration and commission on a range of bespoke automation solutions for supply to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK. They are now seeking to recruit two experienced Field based Controls Service Engineer professionals to support Siemens PLC controlled Automation solutions both remotely and at customer sites throughout the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Service Manager and perform a combination of planned preventative and reactive service and repair activities.
  • Provide out of hours standby support on a fortnightly rota.
  • Initially provide remote or telephone assistance; escalate repairs to on-site visits when required.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be flexible to travel as required.
  • Support the activities of fellow team members when required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and complete detailed service action summaries to be retained for future visits.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills across multiple engineering disciplines and perform exhaustively Siemens PLC fault finding, modification and debugging.
  • Carry out hardware fault-finding and resolution, such as damaged cable repair or faulty device replacement from spares held at sites.
Qualifications
  • At least 3+ years' experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Profinet fault finding experience is distinctly advantageous.
  • Experience of working in highly automated environments is beneficial.
  • Full UK driving licence.
