Leeds, West Yorkshire (commutable from Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, etc.)

The Role

This is a hands-on, full-cycle role that blends electrical design with control software development - perfect for engineers who enjoy variety, ownership, and seeing their systems running on real machinery.

You’ll be responsible for :

• Designing and specifying electrical control circuits for complex machinery
• Creating detailed electrical schematics and panel layouts using CAD software
• Generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensuring design accuracy and compliance
• Writing and developing PLC and HMI software (Siemens / Omron / Rockwell AB)
• PLC programming - from concept through to commissioning
• Overseeing control system installation, testing, and commissioning (UK & overseas)
• Working closely with Mechanical Design and Projects teams to deliver complete automation solutions

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in electrical design engineering and control systems
• Strong background in PLC / HMI programming (Omron, Siemens, or Rockwell / Allen Bradley)
• Working knowledge of Electrical CAD Design, schematics, and panel layouts
• Comfortable managing your own projects and collaborating across departments
• Willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning and customer support (short, planned trips around 45 weeks per year)
